- objectives
- dust and wipe down surfaces

pull electrodes
- cleaning
- patch
- polish electrodes if needed

filter saline

clean and dry forceps
- sharpen if needed

turn equipment on:
- objective manipulator
- electrode manipulator
- amplifier
- computer
- make sure usb hub is switched on for mouse and keyboard
- IR light

fill syringe with external saline
